The Florian-Stadl (Florian Barn), used formerly by the monastery’s farm as a barn and pigpen, and its adjacent Alte Pferdestall (Old Stable) are to be expanded in phases into an authentic function venue and cultural center, and into a theatre for the Carl Orff Festival.
Between 1997 and 2001, the Florian-Stadl (Florian Barn) was converted in multiple phases into a concert hall with 700 seats, including gallery seating for 100 persons. Its rustic ambience and excellent acoustics – an impressive architectural achievement – provides the ideal stage for a broad range of performances.
With its 600 m2 of floor space (stage, parquet and gallery), the Florian- Stadl (Florian Barn) is a unique setting for exhibitions, conferences, symposiums, and events.
During the Orff in Andechs Festival, the Florian-Stadl (Florian Barn) will also serve as the stage for the musicals DER MOND (The Moon), DIE BERNAUERIN, DIE KLUGE (The Clever One), and Carmina Burana.
Both the Florian-Stadl (Florian Barn) and the Alte Pferdestall (Old Stable), located in a complex of buildings at the foot of the Holy Mount, are absolutely perfect for all kinds of festivities:
