Who are we?
The Freundeskreis Kloster Andechs e.V. (Friends of Andechs Monastery reg. Association) was founded in 1985 with the aim of promoting the religious and cultural objectives of the Andechs Monastery on the Holy Mountain. Since then membership of our association has grown constantly and at the moment there are about 300 members. The members – some well known, others not so well known – come from all walks of life, from both far and near.
The association’s committee is elected every two years at the members’ general assembly. A further member representing the monastery is also appointed by the abbot of St Boniface and Andechs. The association’s office is located in the administration section of the monastery.
