The Philosophy of the Idea of Partnerships
In 1996 the idea of allocating product licenses was born. The philosophy behind this idea was to create new top-calibre products using recipes developed jointly with other traditional Bavarian companies that are renowned for the quality of their goods. These specialities are not only authentically linked to the Andechs Monastery, but also to the partner companies.
This cooperation is based on a genuine partnership that extends far beyond the realms of normal licensing.
Andechs Monastery not only lends its traditional name to the joint products, but the degree of fame the monasterys events and activities enjoy way beyond the borders of Bavaria is also a welcome advertising option for partner companies.
The monasterys partner companies can furthermore use the baroque rooms of the Fürstentrakt (royal apartments) for conferences, seminars and musical or literary events. With their rustic ambience, the Florian-Stadl (with up to 700 seats) and the Alte Pferdestall which is used mainly for catered events (e.g. for stand-up receptions), provide an exclusive setting for larger company events, for example, anniversary celebrations and incentive drives for employees and clients.
Since the summer of 2001 the joint specialities produced by the partner companies within the framework of the product partnership scheme have developed into the "Andechs Product Family":
"Andechs Dark Bread" made with Andechs beer solids
"Andechs Light Bread" made with Andechs beer solids
"Andechs Bread Rolls"
"Andechs Special Snuff"
"Andechs Monastery Cheese" with brewers yeast
Alongside the product partnerships, in 2003 Andechs Monastery signed a distribution partnership agreement with the firm of Schwarze & Schlichte Markenvertrieb based in the town of Oelde. It was part of its distillery program and since Autumn 2003 five new types of Andechs Monastery Schnapps have been produced on site at the Andechs Monastery Distillery. The bottling and national distribution of these liquor specialities is now carried out by the new partner.
